Our Team
Luke & Amanda Johnson, Chairman & Secretary
Luke & Amanda are the parents of Landen and Founders of the Landen’s Story Foundation. They have four other children: Brayden, Hannah Grace, Tyler, and Eli. Luke is the Pastor of Highland Drive Free Will Baptist Church in Lincolnton, NC, and Chairman of the Board for the Landen’s Story Foundation. Amanda is a stay-at-home mom and serves as the secretary for the Landen’s Story Foundation.
Their desire is to bring comfort and hope to families who are caring for a child with a rare diagnosis or have experienced the grief of their child passing away. A Bible verse they have drawn strength from during their journey is Deuteronomy 31:8 which says, "The Lord is the One who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed." |

Hi, I'm Kristie Winoker. I'm a wife, Mom and small business owner. My husband Travis and I have 4 children: Greyson, Kynley, Sophie and Reid. Sophie is 7 years old and has the same rare disorder as Landen. Her diagnosis opened our eyes to a whole new world. Many blessings and many trials but one of our biggest blessings was getting to know Landen and the Johnson's. I feel so honored to have the opportunity to continue Landen's legacy of love and sharing God's grace to other rare children and their families.

Mandy Anderson, BSN RN: I am a family woman. I have been married for seven years and am extremely proud to say my husband is a captain with the Charlotte Fire Department. We have a beautiful almost 6 year old daughter, who constantly keeps us on our toes. I have been a pediatric hematology, oncology, and transplant nurse for nearly 10 years. I spent four years as a primary Blood and Marrow Transplant nurse and was truly blessed to take care of patients that needed a transplant. My job entailed caring for the patients once they were discharged from the hospital. I saw most of them 2-3 times per week, which is where I was lucky to meet and get to know Landen. A little over a year ago I transitioned into a Nurse Navigator role within the clinic, which allows me to educate patients and families on new diagnoses.

Makia Clark, Financial Director
I am a wife and momma who is passionate about loving my family and serving them well. Most importantly, I am a daughter of the King. Jesus died so that we can live freely and for that reason I want to love Him above all and love others as He commands. I want to serve so that others will see Jesus in all that I do. Unfortunately, I fail daily but I’m so thankful His mercy is new every morning and that gives me opportunity to keep serving. It is humbling to serve on the board of the Landen’s Story Foundation. Landen’s constant smile and contagious giggles will forever be etched in my mind. His eagerness to serve others even through his own pain and suffering was an example to all of us. We can not fill Landen’s shoes but we can follow the footsteps he left behind as he served and lifted the spirits of everyone he met.
